What to know about Fathom Campus
We like to think of Fathom as residing in a ”campus” because it occupies its a distinctive place of learning and performing. It is a leader in FPA service and certainly does things that our Pace Car Classic does not. They are a perfect complement to each other. Fathom may well be all that many of our users ever want from us, which is a fine arrangement.
We are a Certified Fathom Advisor and offer advisory to go along with access to the service. Here is how our structured Fathom Campus service works:
-1- Fathom runs off of a set of conforming Excel uploads. You would provide general ledger information to us at agreed-upon dates. We would upload it into our Pace Car Classic to check on its conformity and to retain that data to assist in our advisory to you.
-2- We upload the conforming files (General Ledger/ Financial Statement being one and Budget being the other) into Fathom and provide you with your Fathom login. You are ready to go.
-3- You can run as much on Fathom on your own as you choose. To activate forecasting, you can choose to enter your own or to use one of Fathom’s options for handling it - an appealing Fathom feature.
-4- Alternatively, you can let us guide you through the monthly process and provide you with regular, detailed interpretations and alternatives. We can suggest views of past and future that you might miss. We are experts in trends and variances. Remember that you will have complete access to (and our guidance by) our Pace Car Classic and Pace Car Full Force as well as Fathom.
-5- Of course any combination of the above is possible and recommended. One way or another, we should point out that Fathom is exquisite at Key Performance Indicators (KPI). There is an abundance of KPI reporting available, and the ability to add custom KPI on top. Like their forecasting, Fathom’s KPI handling is not to be missed.
-6- Then we come to how solutions are formed. We move from reporting to solutions. If solutions are going to be found, they will come from getting the data to “well-positioned players” from your operations and Pace Car supplemental data. All reports and forecasts, whether from Pace Car Classic, Fathom or Pace Car Full Force, get moved into our “TV2 Solutions” process - Team Visibility for Trends and Variances - whose targets are housed in Trello team discussions. Targets are eventually signed out for either being handled or being tabled. See TV2
